Laterna ftohia kai Filotimo music box 1/12 – Λατέρνα Φτώχεια & Φιλότιμο 1/12

The barrel organ is a greek traditional musical instrument and in greek it’s called ‘Laterna’ and if you come in Greece you may see it somewhere in the streets playing music and you will be delighted for sure!  If you are greek it will talk in your heart cause it’s not only a craft in small scale, it is also a music box which comes with a greek melody called “Zorbas”. The song is related to the greek book of Nikos Kazantzakis “Zorba the Greek”, and its also a movie nowadays. However the picture on the laterna it’s from a greek movie called “Laterna ftohia kai Filotimo”, 1955, black n white film. 

Νοσταλγία. Η λατέρνα σε μικρή κλίμακα είναι ένα πολύ ιδιαίτερο δημιούργημα βγαλμένο από μια άλλη εποχή, θυμίζοντας μια παλιά εποχή, όπου οι ρίζες και η παράδοση είχανε σημασία. Θα μπορούσες να την πετύχεις να στέκει κοντά στον κουλουρτζή. Εκτός όμως από μια κατασκευή μπορεί και να μιλήσει στην καρδιά σου, καθώς είναι κάτι παραπάνω από μερικά ξυλάκια κομμένα, είναι ένα μουσικό κουτί που παίζει την μελωδία του Ζορμπά και μπορεί να σε ταξιδέψει.
